To lead, direct and manage the Marketing and Communications initiative of the College. This position is responsible for the effective development and implementation of marketing, communications, branding and outreach activities. Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Mass Communication or related field Experiance: Essential A Minimum 5 years marketing experience required, with 3 years’ experience in the management of a department at a senior level. Proficiency in oral and written communications skills in English. Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and an existing relationship with the media in Abu Dhabi. Experience of presenting to a multi-cultural audience at small and large events. Desirable Proficiency in Arabic language. Experience of working within an academic institution. Specific Accountabilities: Develop, implement and monitor the effectiveness of proactive marketing and promotional strategies which position the College as the institution of choice for teacher education in the UAE. Establish an annual operational plan with defined targets and key performance indicators which stretch the department towards continual improvement. Direct the development and oversee the implementation of the functional policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all areas of communication and business development function so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service in a consistent manner. Lead the development and implementation of annual, strategic and special events that ensures the efforts and resources are utilized in a manner that provides the greatest return to the organization. Ensure all events are planned to capture the attention of the intended audience and the media. Manage events ensuring all details are managed in a creative, timely and cost efficient manner. Develop and maintain a strong and productive relationship with media and other stakeholders. Ensure the College is understood by the media and that it receives extensive coverage in the media; and the media are interested in presenting information to the public in a manner that informs and educates them on the organization. Manage the preparation and printing of promotional literature and academic support materials as required to ensure that these are consistent with ECAE's image and brand identity. Liaise with the Purchasing and Procurement Section to ensure that ECAE external production optimizes quality, efficiency and cost. Lead the College in creating a good working relationship and strategic tie ups with leading universities, corporations and government institutions to ensure harmonious and professional relationships and make the College a preferred partner. Ensure a continuous effort in sourcing funds from external parties through various programs and activities while collaborating with key university leadership to maintain transparency of programs and support from management. Liaise with appropriate internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for joint promotional activities and to ensure that marketing plans developed and recommendations made to senior management are founded on robust research. Work closely with the student recruitment team, ensuring that ECAE is presented positively to potential students and that appropriate leads are passed to the relevant personnel in ECAE. Ensure that all employees are stimulated, motivated and guided to contribute fully to the realization of ECAE’s mission, vision, goals and objectives. Empower employees to identify innovative approaches to enhance organizational performance.
Provide strong, effective and highly visible leadership to the Communications team in order to capitalize on the full potential of this most critical resource. Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan and manage communications activities to advance ECAE brand identity, broaden awareness and increase visibility of its programs and protect the College’s brand reputation. Manage and build the ECAE brand, promoting its strengths in order to continue to improve high quality student recruitment, the ability to attract world leading academics, and the ability to attract high quality partners both academic and corporate. Develop effective internal communication processes to support operational coherence and collegiality, and enable effective advocacy by the ECAE community. Manage the budget and ensure delivery of projects on time and within budget. Ensure value for money and quality when procuring external products and services. Supervise and exercise quality control of design, content, and functionality of the College's website, social media and mobile apps. Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives through the leadership of the department – setting individual objectives for direct reports, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinates performance.
