Standard duties: • Develop and implement a department strategy according to the company strategy, set departmental and operational goals and initiate measures to reach these goals and to improve the overall department performance • Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against departmental goals • Responsible for a result-oriented management and development of people and resources, including provision of a strong day-to-day leadership presence involving resource allocation, monitoring, reporting, and conducting regular staff meetings • Manage the department expenditure and requirements, keeping in mind its impact and utilization on the financial budget • Foster organizational culture by establishing quality awareness and service orientation and complying and implementing processes such as Project Management and Change Management • Initiate, develop, implement and ensure adherence of policies and procedures • Promote and support the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals to significantly contribute to Daman’s strategic goal Department Specific: • Provide an effective liaison between the business departments, the ITS Executive Committee and the information technology services department • Provide direction to project teams including assignment of individual responsibilities, tasks and technical functions • Provide the necessary supporting documentation for the Business Operations areas to evaluate, prioritize and determine the cost effectiveness of information technology initiatives • Interface regularly with business unit managers to define projects direction and systems change priorities • Implement and maintain processes and set of documentations related to the Software development lifecycle related to Requirements analysis using the Requirements management methodologies and tools. • Maintain a close and strong relationship with the rest of the ITS teams including Enterprise Architecture, Solution delivery and the IT Operations • Ensure and promote the implementation of the defined Enterprise Architecture principles and target architecture. Develop roadmaps of core products together with the EA teams • Promote and communicate the work of the ITS units to the rest of the Daman business units • Initiate, participate and contribute at a high level to any ongoing business activity which will create substantial ITS demand • Initiate and execute intra departmental communication and improvement activities to ensure maximum alignment of the ITS with business priorities and facilitate demand capturing • Attend all relevant Business and decision making forums which deal with future ITS demand and new requirements • Ensure that the department is producing enough work to fill the capacity of the development teams following the business priority model • Liaise with the business units to shape and implement the demand management processes as well as the regular liaison / relationship management interactions • Ensure capture of business requirements in a structured way with high quality in order to have a consistent basis for estimation and scheduling of the implementation • Be proactive in introducing new relevant practices in business analysis and project management within the team, such as Design thinking, Agile project management, Product roadmaps, etc.
• Ability to document and diagram systems and business processes, and migration procedures with minimal background information. • Proven ability of managing large projects • Proven ability to document use cases. • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to acquire input and lead discussions with a wide-ranging group of stakeholders across both business and ITS teams • Dynamic, self-driven with strong business understanding and background • Strategic thinking with strong focus on results and high quality of work and able to “think out of the box” • Very good leadership skills including people management, selection and development skills • Proven ability in managing a team of 10 people or more • Very good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic language is an added advantage • Very good analytical, planning, forecasting, execution and problem solving skills • Continuously acquire and refresh functional knowledge, skills and competencies • Flexible and able to work under pressure • Respect and promote trust and confidentiality • Strong level of customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions • Very good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills • Broad knowledge of health insurance concepts • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications • Experienced in managing a multi-cultural environment and promote teamwork and knowledge sharing in order to achieve goals and deliverables
