Job Statement The PE Teacher counsel, advise, encourage, interact with and develop all Students of mixed ability to become enthusiastic and reach their potential in physical education and personal development under the supervision of Vice Principal Academic. Job Specifications • Teach Physical Education within STS and promote, coordinate and participate in sports activities throughout the school year. • Plan and prepare lessons in advance in collaboration with colleagues and ensure that learning is kept within curriculum targets. • Ensure all training is conducted in an enthusiastic, dynamic, challenging, realistic and safe manner in line with the training objectives and current modern philosophy and teaching methods. • Carry out assessment procedures and marking policies as outlined and organized by the STS/ADVETI guidelines. • Record and report on the development, progress and attainment of students including initiating meetings with parents to discuss attainment and progress. • Keep a disciplined class whilst promoting the general well-being of students. • Organize PE / Sport workshops for staff and parents when appropriate. • Participate in the provision of co-curricular activities including liaising with other schools and clubs to arrange fixtures. • Maintain resources and facilities to the required safety standards and renew, as necessary within the budgetary allowance. • Book sports facilities (like swimming pools, fields, tennis courts) and carry out the necessary administration as required. • Write subject development plans, curriculum documents and policies in liaison with the responsible managers. • Promote developments within PE and identify and report any associated staff development requirements to the responsible manager. • Carry out playground duties as timetabled or when necessary. • Maintain an appropriate awareness of and work effectively within the policies and procedures of the STS/ADVETI. • Operate safely within the workplace and maintain a high standard of practice. • Behave professionally at all times and maintain confidentiality of information. • Promote and safeguard the welfare of the students that fall under your responsibility or that you come into contact with.
Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience preferably in High School/Diploma level. Excellent oral and written English essential (IELTS Academic 7.0) Spoken and written Arabic is desirable Proficient in MS Office - IC3 or ICDL Certified Bachelor Degree in Physical Education plus/including Teaching Degree/PGCE or recognized equivalent. PE and Sports experience – teaching and practical. First aid qualification Further relevant professional qualifications and professional development work. Personal attributes require a strong team member, with obvious inherent enthusiasm and passion to work alongside a variety of staff.
