Job Description

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum 10 years’ experience, in industry in a commercial environment, contracting for professional development services or training services. Knowledge of qualifications standards and development, Learning Programme standards and development in a commercial educational or training environment. ROLE STATEMENT Lead contracting, project management, financial accountability and wider industrial consultation with industry in systematic development of occupational standards and qualification standards. Monitor metrics generated to inform on policy, standards compliance, project progress, and key performance indicators for project developments and self. The Industrial Liaison - Senior Specialist is part of the Qualification Department consisting of the Senior Manager and Section Head of the Qualifications Development Section. Industrial Liaison Senior Specialists report to the Head of Section - Qualifications Development Section. All work co-operatively as part of the team to accomplish the Department and team goals for industrial liaison, qualifications development and contracting for vocational services. PRINCIPLE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Develop strong relationships with industry and foster open and communicative industrial liaison. 2.Manage and Project Manage all contracted and non-contracted projects to a successful outcome. 3.Manage and Project Manage all financial aspects of contracted and non-contracted projects within defined budgets. 4.Successfully raise awareness, conduct wider consultation with industry for the development of qualification, whether contracted or non-contracted services. 5.Successfully organize: meetings, conferences and events. 6.Write service information publications and present to expected standard. 7.Successfully track: milestones, key performance indicators and metrics for projects and self.

Skills

1.Demonstrated ability to: communicate locally and internationally with influence, a proven record of developing and maintaining effective partnerships with diverse external clients and other key stakeholders. 2.Experience track record of commercial contracting for training or professional development services in multicultural environments. 3.Knowledge of the issues associated with interrelationships with the labour market, the national economy, and skills sectors and qualifications. 4.Demonstrated ability to liaise with industry and involve industry in wider consultation. 5.Ability to involve industry in the development of skill standards. 6.Ability to involve industry in writing qualifications that meet industry needs. 7.Ability to gather and involve industry in wider consultation, raising awareness, meetings, conferences and events. 8.Ability to Project Manage development projects to meet milestones and key performance indicators. 9.Ability to manage self and work effectively within a team. 10.Ability to write: service information, prepare project and monthly reports, track initiatives, measure milestones, measure and maintain key performance indicator reports for project developments and self. 11.Ability to create and manage budgets to set parameters.

ACTVET Core Activities:
Devise strategies and policies related to technical and vocational education and training;
Provide consultation, educational and training courses to public and private institutions in the Emirate;
License vocational and technical institutions in line with applicable laws, regulation and accreditation;
Developing strategies and mutually beneficial partnerships with public and private education companies and bodies, as well as with training institutes;
Guide and assist Abu Dhabi Government and private institutions on technical and vocational education and training;
Undertake original educational research in coordination with other Government bodies.
