Experience Required Minimum 5+ years of overall combined experience in Accounts and Finance experience Education Requirements Advanced degree in Accounting. Professional accountancy qualification preferred Competency Required 1. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedure. 2. Strong bi-lingual (Arabic and English) Communications Skills. Especially writing arabic. 3. Proven working experience at Senior Accountant level or higher 4. Knowledge of local government financial regulations and requirement. 5. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. 6. Experience with creating financial statements 7. Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines. 8. Experience of general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process 9. Staff supervision experience would be added bonus but not a must 10. Ability to function as a team player 11. Excellent understanding of Oracle ERP a must. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills 12. Experience of budget preparation ROLE STATEMENT Reporting to the Head of Finance, we are looking for an experienced bi-lingual (Arabic & English) Senior Accountant to undertake all aspects of financial management, including general ledger accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, business support, financial analysis as well as assist in the development of internal control policies and procedures and special projects. PRINCIPLE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting • Research technical accounting issues for compliance • Undertake cash management • Support month-end and year-end close process • Assist with ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting • Manage and comply with local government reporting requirements • Assist with the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls • Provide financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital projects, business support decisions, and contract negotiations • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit • Coordinate the provision of quarterly and ad-hoc information request to Abu Dhabi Department of Finance, Executive Council and any other government organization as required.
