Standard Duties: • Support in the implementation of quality awareness in delivering efficient and cost effective services • Support in development, implementation and ensure adherence of policies and procedures • Maintain documentation and Configuration Management database (CMDB) for data accuracy • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new tools to maximize efficiency • Supervise and manage vendors and subcontractors • Translate technical terminology into business language according to audience • Support the management in appropriate staffing by participating in interviews and hiring of new staff • Guide and coach junior members of the team Department Specific: • Provide support for the virtual environment technologies • Perform moderately complex systems and VM administration. • Monitor and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance. • Deploy virtual servers on VMware and / or HyperV, Xen environments • Install / automate guests machines of various Operating Systems • Setup and maintain high availability of the virtual environment • Monitor server load and implement load balancing where appropriate • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for all systems software, and clients in conjunction with end users and department managers • Provide metrics for capacity management purposes and make recommendations • Design and architect any future expansion • Develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorised use, acts of nature and user abuse. • Maintain documentation and update CMDB for data accuracy. • Promote and maintain server patch management practices • Upgrade and replace server hardware where appropriate
• Very good knowledge: o on virtualisation technologies and products such as VMWare, Hyper-V and Citrix Xen. o and experience with Microsoft Windows and related technologies o of different Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris, …) o about enterprise storage technologies and architecture • Good understanding of Change Management frameworks such as ITIL • Knowledge of: o network infrastructure o server applications o backup software technologies • Good business understanding and background • Good leadership skills including people management, selection and development skills • Very good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic language is an advantage • Very good analytical, planning, forecasting, execution and problem solving skills • Ability to acquire and apply new skills • Flexible and able to work under pressure; Willingness to work in 24/7 environments in case the need arises • Respect and promote trust and confidentiality • Results oriented whilst ensuring high quality of work and able to “think out of the box” • Strong level of customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions • Able to work in a multi-cultural environment and promote teamwork and knowledge sharing in order to achieve goals and deliverables • Good knowledge of health insurance concepts
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
